My Artwork 'A Familiar Flight' is in the Top 10 for the Viewer's Choice Award
I was thrilled to receive some exciting news from the QPRC Arts & Heritage Team this week—my artwork A Familiar Flight is currently among the Top 10 frontrunners for the Viewer's Choice Art Award at the QPRC x Bendigo Bank Art Awards Exhibition.
Voting for the Viewer's Choice Award closes this Saturday 13 June at 2:30pm, with the winner announced shortly afterwards. If you haven't yet visited the exhibition, there is still time to see the incredible collection of artworks on display and cast your vote.
Being selected as one of the leading works in a field of so many talented artists is a wonderful honour, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has taken the time to visit the exhibition and support my work.
A Familiar Flight is one of the largest and most ambitious paintings I have created to date, measuring 101.6cm x 101.6cm. The artwork took over two months to complete and features a galah painted in my signature realistic style. Galahs are a familiar and beloved part of the Australian landscape, and through this piece I wanted to celebrate the beauty found in everyday wildlife encounters.
The exhibition is being held at The Q Exhibition Space and The LinQ Gallery within The Q Performing Arts Centre, Queanbeyan Civic Precinct. The exhibition runs until 13 June 2026 and showcases an outstanding range of artistic talent from across the region.
