I’m thrilled to invite you to my upcoming exhibition, Shared Spaces: The Wildlife Next Door, showing at Rusten House from 30 August to 19 October 2025.
This exhibition is a celebration of the beautiful, surprising, and often-overlooked wildlife that lives quietly alongside us. From birds perched on fences to wombats wandering through laneways, these fleeting encounters remind us that nature is not something “out there”—it’s right here, woven into our everyday lives.
Through a series of acrylic paintings on canvas, I’ve sought to capture the charm and resilience of the creatures that share our streets, gardens, and bush edges. Each work is inspired by moments observed in my hometown of Braidwood and beyond—where wildlife and human life often overlap in quiet, meaningful ways.
Shared Spaces aims to spark a sense of wonder and attentiveness, particularly in younger generations. I hope the work encourages curiosity, care, and a deeper connection to the natural world just outside our doors.
